Over 50s love their Minis

As the Mini celebrates 50 years since it first went on sale, Saga Motor Insurance reveals the British icon is a firm favourite with the over 50s and is one of the most reliable cars with many fewer Mini drivers making claims on their motor insurance.

It seems that once you become a Mini driver, you remain one for life as over 50 Saga customers aged over 90 currently drive the little run-around, with the eldest driver being 97 years young!

Famously starring in films such as The Italian Job (1969 and 2003), and ‘70s TV series The Persuaders, it is hardly surprising the car has remained such a national treasure and regularly tops the classic car charts. One Saga customer must certainly be proud of their 1966 Austin Mini Moke, which wins first prize for the oldest Mini on Saga's insurance book.
