Breitling Wingwalkers to display at Best of British Show

The Breitling Wingwalkers will take to the skies at the Best of British Show, Cotswold Airport, on Monday 27th August. They will perform a breathtaking sequence of formation loops and rolls, while daring wingwalkers in patriotic Union Jack flying suits will perform acrobatics on the wings.
Based in the Cotswolds, the world’s only formation wingwalking display team is renowned for dazzling spectators at events throughout the UK and Europe.
Official supplier to the aviation world, Breitling is the leading manufacturer of high quality luxury sports watches. With their strong aviation heritage supplying instruments for professionals, the wingwalking team is honoured to represent the Breitling brand.
Chief Pilot Martyn Carrington commented: “Precision timing is a crucial aspect of all display flying and we are delighted to display at the Best of British Show which celebrates all that is iconic about Britain including the love of flying.”
Painted in their striking orange Breitling livery, the beautiful 1940s Stearman biplanes will roar through the skies at speeds of up to 140mph above the Best of British Show. Each with a wingwalker climbing around the aircraft and performing handstands while waving to the crowd below.
For the impressive ‘Cockpit Lady’ pass, the daring wingwalkers leave the safety of their static harness and climb down to the cockpit during flight. While standing in front of the pilot’s windscreen they perform a balletic pose as they soar above Cotswold Airport at 100 mph!
Suzannah Harvey, Director, Cotswold Airport commented: “We are delighted to welcome the Brietling Wingwalkers to the Best of British Show. The team is locally-based and will demonstrate the precision flying and acrobatic skill of the wingwalkers as one of Britain’s most loved formation display teams.”
The Brietling wingwalkers make up an impressive air display line up which includes the Red Arrows on Sunday 26th August alongside other British favourites the RAF Hawk and RAF Tucano Display Teams, the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight, Tiger Nine formation, Ultimate High Extra300 unlimited aerobatics and The Silver Stars Parachute Display Team.
In the morning of each day, a show arena will entertain animal lovers with the Lamb National, Lurcher and Ferret Racing, Birds of Prey demonstrations and an interactive wildlife zoo featuring meerkats, rabbits, reptiles and spiders. Scenic pleasure flights will be on offer with Classic Flights in the graceful de Havilland Dragon Rapide, while helicopter flights are available with HH Helicopters.
On the sound stage Stroud-based musicians The Outcast Band, The Approval and 1940s trio The Three Belles will perform, while classic cars and vintage military vehicles will be on display representing the British love of vehicles. Visitors can browse the trade and craft fair offering locally-sourced organic crafts, afternoon cream teas, Pimms or English beer before a spin around the traditional British funfair.
