This summer holiday makers are being encouraged to take their friends and family on a canoeing and camping experience in the Herefordshire countryside with Tipi Adventure.

The unusual holidays, based in the stunning Wye Valley, offer an outdoor adventure that is suitable for old and young alike. Travelling through the countryside by Canadian canoe, participants can experience a wilderness style holiday. Accommodation is provided in luxury Tipis which are set on five different exclusive and private locations along the riverside.

Each campsite contains a maximum of two or three Tipis and are set in up to four acres of land, making it a private experience. Larger groups of families can even book the whole Tipi site to themselves. Sites also offer drinking water, private portable toilets plus picnic tables for dining and acres of space for fun and games.

Each Tipi offers luxury accommodation including futon sofa beds with extra thick mattresses, sleeping bags and liner, pillows, a fire pit, kitchen area with crockery and utensils, a light and a barbecue with coals and lighting equipment. Cool boxes are also available on request with fresh ice packs supplied daily. All visitors need to bring is clothing, towels, food and drink.

The accommodation is offered on a self-catering basis where visitors can cook on the internal open fire, the outside barbecue or on a small portable gas stove. Whatever they choose, all equipment is provided.

Tipi Adventure is the brainchild of Charlie Lawson who saw an opportunity to offer family holidays in his favourite part of the English countryside: “I had a vision to create a holiday company where it allowed families and friends to spend quality time together while discovering a deeper and more meaningful holiday experience. This type of holiday allows people to bond as they work as a team whilst discovering a new and unique outdoor experience. The canoeing is great fun and no experience is required so anyone can try it. At the end of each day it’s all about relaxing by the campfire, enjoying outdoor living and reminiscing on the day’s adventure.”

Prices for accommodation with Tipi Adventure start from £180 per night. Each Tipi can sleep up to seven people. Canoes cost from £50 per day and can hold three adults or two adults and two children. Tipi Adventures start from the head office near Hampton Bishop with a canoe safety briefing and where luggage is deposited before the adventure begins.

The prices include transfers of all luggage, which will be awaiting guests’ arrival at their chosen Tipi site.

The canoe routes are mapped out for visitors and most stretches have a pub or shop en-route.
