We all love winning, but it's by no means everything! For many keen casino players, the setting is just as important. So, we're jetting off to Europe to take a look at some of the most exclusive casinos around. From grand chandeliers to frescoed ceilings, hardwood gaming tables to endless slot machines, Europe’s gaming halls are holiday destinations in their own right. Before we get properly stuck in though, it's worth remembering that not all the action happens in lavish, marble-clad palaces. Sometimes, the most exciting games are just a click away...

Online Options

While Europe’s gaming halls deliver beauty and tradition, online casinos deliver the fun straight to your screen. Jackpot City Casino recently released its top 20 UK slots and there's a whole lot to get your teeth stuck into. One of our favourites is the Granny Disco Frenzy slot. As the name suggests, it's a pretty niche game! It’s kitschy and quirky, truthfully? It’s everything you didn’t know you needed in a slot game. No velvet ropes or dress codes here, no chandeliers or hardwood gaming tables either though. If you're after a more laid-back experience, then online might be an option to consider.

Casino Baden-Baden, Germany

Let's kick off the travel in style with a visit to the edge of Germany’s Black Forest. Casino Baden-Baden feels more like a fairy tale than a casino. The building exudes 19th-century opulence, ghostly white against the dark spruce trees, with interiors that seem straight out of a royal palace. The hush of the poker rooms is almost eerie, as if the ghosts of 19th-century gamblers are still around watching. And if you ever tire of gaming (unlikely), the nearby thermal baths offer a perfect excuse to luxuriate like the European nobility once did!

Casino di Venezia, Italy

Looking for a whole lot of history wrapped up in Venetian grandeur and sealed with a gondola shaped bow? Look no further. Sitting proudly on the Grand Canal, the Casino di Venezia has been welcoming keen players since 1638, making it the oldest casino in the world. Admittedly, it has switched locations, but only once! Arrive by gondola and follow the stunning marble staircase leading to the gaming rooms. This one is a real treat.

Casino Estoril, Portugal

Architecture nerds look away now - Casino Estoril is a masterclass in blending tradition with modernity. The sleek, understated exterior hides an over the top interior that's flamboyant, opulent, and joyous. After becoming a hideout for spies during the WWII it earned the nickname 'casino of spies'. After this? Well, naturally it became Ian Fleming's inspiration for Casino Royale! So pull up a pew at the bar and treat yourself to a drink - shaken, not stirred, of course.

Crockfords, England

Tucked away in the heart of Mayfair, Crockfords is as old-school-exclusive as it gets. It’s invitation-only, and every inch of it whispers discretion and wealth. Established in 1828, it has all the hallmarks of British refinement, with leather armchairs, polished mahogany, and a wonderful hush. Regulars speak of the impeccable service, but the real treat? Playing beneath oil paintings that have seen more drama than all of us put together.
