Barclays Stockbrokers top 20 fund purchases for May 2012
Barclays Stockbrokers, the UK's largest execution-only retail broker, reveals the top 20 funds purchased via its revamped Funds Market by clients during May 2012.
The Aberdeen Emerging Markets fund was the most commonly purchased fund in May 2012, taking the top spot for a fifth consecutive month. Within the top ten funds purchased, May saw an increase in funds with a UK focus, while the emphasis on Asia and Emerging Markets funds declined. The analysis also showed that compared to the data from May last year, there was a 17% increase in fund deals and an 18% increase in the value of client fund investments.
