Paint with remote controlled cars at the Heritage Motor Centre

The Heritage Motor Centre is inviting children of all ages to meet their infamous Artist in Residence, Ian Cook of ‘PopBang Colour’ this summer. Ian, who paints using remote controlled cars, will offer children an insight into his artistic methods on the 7, 9, 28 & 30 August. Children can watch how he works, have a go creating portraits with car parts, landscapes with micro-machines and doodling on car panels.
Ian was recently seen on the BBC’s ‘The One Show’ where alongside JessieJ and Chris Evans, he re-created JessieJ's latest album cover live on TV. Ian is also a regular on the motoring circuit, creating works of art at Goodwood, Silverstone and the British Grand Prix and has previously created a giant image of Lewis Hamilton.
Ian’s studio is within the Museum so that visitors are able to see him creating his works of art as part of their visitor experience. The studio is an active space often displaying new artworks, fresh from creation from shows and events. The studio also features elements such as body panels from the 2010 BTCC championship and items Ian has collected over the past four years. There are also a number of original artworks displayed throughout the HMC including the Aston Martin artwork original seen on BBC's Top Gear and featured in the 'art special' at the MIMA art gallery. Ian often creates commissioned artwork within his studio and sometimes rare vehicles are displayed whilst he creates his artwork.
Penny Tyler, Marketing Officer at the Heritage Motor Centre stated “We are thrilled to offer visitors the chance to see Ian in action which will be a great hands-on activity for all the family. Ian has a huge following and will no doubt attract lots of visitors to join in the action!”
There is no extra charge to see Ian Cook in action as it is included in the standard Museum entry fees. Museum prices are: Adults £11, Child £8 (5-16 years) under 5 free, Concessions £9 & Family £34 (2 adults & up to 3 children).
