Cruise aboard the Halong Ginger

Bamboo Travel has launched a brand new 16-day trip called Treasures of Vietnam which has been carefully put together to include the very best that the country has to offer.

Throughout the holiday, accommodation is at the renowned Victoria Hotels, which are found the length of Vietnam from the wild mountains in the far north overlooking China, to the Mekong Delta bordering Cambodia in the south.

Commencing with two days exploring the charms of Hanoi, the next part of the itinerary is a cruise (and overnight stay) on the emerald waters of Halong Bay aboard the luxurious Halong Ginger – the beautiful junk with just 10 cabins.

Returning to Hanoi, next up is a trip on the well-appointed Victoria Express train for an overnight journey to Sapa, where three days will be spent seeing colourful markets, visiting hill tribe villages and enjoying the stunning mountain scenery.

The holiday continues with a 3-night stay at the Victoria Hoi An Resort in central Vietnam, which is ideally located for exploring the UNESCO heritage site of Hoi An and relaxing on the beach.

The penultimate leg of the trip is an extended stay in the Mekong Delta to experience the frantic trading at Indochina's largest floating market, with the option of exploring local villages and farms by bicycle.

The itinerary ends with a short stay in Saigon with a guided tour of the infamous Cu Chi Tunnels led by a VC veteran.

The holiday can commence any Tuesday or Friday (year round) and costs from £2,695 pp (2 sharing) based on September departure.

This includes international flights, 10-nights' hotel accommodation, one night on the Halong Ginger cruise boat, 2-nights on board the Victoria Express in a private compartment (Deluxe), daily breakfast (plus 4 lunches & 1 dinner), road transfers, tours on a private basis and private English speaking guides and drivers
