Land's End unveils its first self-catering facilities
Tourism chiefs at Land's End have unveiled the iconic site's first-ever luxury self-catering accommodation, as part of a £3million investment programme.
The Saddle and Stable Rooms at the famous First and Last Inn are a new development of contemporary holiday apartments that have opened for bookings this month.
This latest £350,000 investment highlights Land's End's commitment to improving facilities for visitors to the historic site.
A total of £3million is currently being invested to improve the experience for the hundreds of thousands of families who visit Land's End each year and to help conserve its 100 acres of breath-taking natural landscape and coastline.
Phase One saw the site given a major facelift in the run up to the start of the Olympic Torch relay last month. It also included the new Arthur's Quest attraction, which opened earlier this year and has been a massive hit with visitors.
The large-scale refurbishment programme follows the success of an initial pilot project, which saw a £250,000 renovation of the restaurant, lounge bar and reception area of the renowned Land's End Hotel.
The stylish new apartments are located close to both Land's End and nearby Sennen Cove, a stunning beach favoured by surfers and families.
The Saddleroom is a two-bedroom apartment with en-suite bathrooms. There are three Stableroom studio apartments, all furnished to a high standard and sympathetic to the original use of the historic buildings.

The plan also includes:
Upgrading of buildings and all-weather attractions as well as restoring disused buildings and bringing them back into use
A new piece of artwork to celebrate hosting the start of the Olympic Torch Relay
Upgrading of the start/finish area to the legendary Land's End-to-John O'Groats journey
An interactive educational programme for children linked to the natural beauty and history of Land's End
Improving signage and the 'visitor welcome' at the destination
New on-site staff accommodation
Increased staff customer service training programme
