People living by the seaside are more likely to feel fit and healthy according to a new analysis of census data for England. The findings, recently published in the journal Health and Place , show a small but significant improvement in health among people living less than 1km from the sea than people living further away. At Rocky Lane in St Agnes, Cornwall, the healthy coastal lifestyle is just one of the reasons attracting buyers to this collection of cutting edge eco homes, positioned just a few minutes walk from the beach.

Simon Blackburn, Managing Director of Living Structures, the developer behind Rocky Lane, comments: “People have always been drawn to living by the sea, now evidence proves that spending time near the coast is good for wellbeing and reducing stress. In the West Country especially, people have a laid back attitude to life and enjoy an outdoor lifestyle, which is known to contribute to good health.”

At Rocky Lane, ten individually designed homes are being created, which combine outstanding architecture and luxury interiors. The homes are designed with an outdoor lifestyle in mind - each with its own large private outdoor space such as a terrace and or deck. They are surrounded by 3.5 acres of mature, private woodland, creating a feeling of tranquility among the trees and harmony with nature, and the exteriors of the homes are clad in Western Red Cedar to blend with their surroundings.

Residents of Rocky Lane are well located to make the most of all this spectacularly beautiful stretch of north Cornwall coast has to offer, with many of Cornwall’s famous surfing beaches and coastal walks close by. The local beach at Trevaunance Cove is popular but never gets very busy. It sits within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and a World Heritage Site and averages more hours of sunshine than anywhere else in the UK. The village of St Agnes itself has a strong sense of community, as well as a variety of shops and amenities.

Simon Blackburn continues: “The St Agnes area offers some of the most beautiful stretches of coastline and beaches, as well as a relaxed and friendly pace of life. The homes at Rocky Lane give people the opportunity to enjoy the healthy coastal lifestyle all year round.”

Inside the properties, the layouts are spacious and flexible, finished with great attention to detail and a luxury specification. Floor to ceiling windows and double glazed doors make the most of natural light and the views. Stylish kitchens feature high-gloss units with stone worktops and integrated “A” rated Bosch appliances. Engineered wood flooring and a wood-burning stove are fitted as standard, while optional extras such as hot tub and built in wine cooler are available for a touch of luxury. Also with healthy living in mind, the homes are built to the highest environmental standards, with numerous energy saving features to ensure lower utility bills for the owner.

St Agnes is situated 10 miles from Truro and 20 miles from Newquay International Airport, which offers frequent direct flights to Gatwick, Manchester and other UK destinations.

Current prices range from £499,995 to £650,000 and are exempt from stamp duty. For further sales information, visit: rockylanecornwall.com.
