Holiday like Brad and Angelina in the Lake District

31st August 2012 Print

For those who fancy a film-star standard autumn holiday in the Lake District, Cumbrian Cottages has everything from a boathouse on Windermere to a luxury mansion with its own helicopter pad among its 900 holiday cottages.

Lakeshore Boathouse on Windermere is one half of a wooden boathouse conversion at Bowness with a small secluded beach area as well as its own jetty, plus a lavish master bedroom, and a second bunk room.  Remaining autumn weeks (excluding half term) cost £850 to £1000 for a family of four.

On Derwent Water, Keswick Boat House is a unique bolt-hole for a couple, has its own jetty and a balcony which literally overhangs the lake, with a parade of wildlife and passing boats for memorable views from dawn to dusk.  Remaining autumn weeks (excluding half term) cost £820 to £990.

On the other hand, few boathouses can accommodate a family as large as the Jolie-Pitt brood.

Film-star standard lakeside properties include Beech Manor where a party of up to 12 can enjoy lawns that overlook Windermere, a private lakeshore area and its own small pier.  The property even has a helicopter landing area for those arriving in style.  Short breaks at Beech Manor cost from £2060 this autumn.

And recently-renovated Orrest Head House, a mile and a half above Windermere, also sleeps up to 12 and combines contemporary family living with five-star facilities like the huge, superb kitchen and its own bar.  Short breaks here start from just £900 this autumn.
