As part of the Government’s drive to keep the property market moving forward, its latest initiative NewBuy is now on offer at a range of new housing developments across the region.

The initiative, which sees a return to availability of the 90 - 95% mortgage, has been embraced by award winning house builder Miller Homes. The developer is hosting a NewBuy weekend (15/16th September) at developments across the region during a special promotional week by the Home Builders’ Federation.

“NewBuy is a great opportunity for buyers to take a first step onto the property ladder and means that it is no longer always necessary to save a huge deposit,” said Steve McElroy sales director Miller Homes Yorkshire. “By working with leading lenders Miller Homes is proud to be able to offer the initiative on a wide range of properties from one bedroom apartments to family homes at several of our developments across the region.”

The initiative which is supported by the HBF and backed by the Government was launched earlier this year to help people with smaller deposits to purchase a newly built home. There has been a steady rise in applications as awareness grows and Miller Homes is keen to work with the HBF to ensure more prospective home buyers are able to take up the opportunity to secure a brand new home for them.

“This is just one initiative that Miller Homes is proud to offer to support the nation’s home buyers, whether they are purchasing for the first time or moving on,” said Steve. “It is positive news for anyone in the property market and good to see that options are available to help keep Britain moving.”

Stewart Baseley, Executive chairman at the Home Builders Federation said; “We know people want to buy, but many have been thwarted by the current large deposit requirements. NewBuy is proving a lifeline for people as it allows them to buy their dream home with a 5% deposit. Many NewBuy buyers had been staying with parents saving a deposit or stuck in a house no longer big enough for their family. NewBuy is proving a real winner for them after such a frustrating time.”

NewBuy weekends will be held at Miller Homes’ developments across the region including Stonebridge Fold, East Ardsley; Fairfield Manor, Wakefield; Flaxton Court, Bradford; Cleminson Halls, Cottingham; The Meadows, Ollerton; Ashtree Park, Sutton-in-Ashfield; Priory Chase, Pontefract (Saturday only).
