As the home of Hogmanay, Scotland is the perfect place to ring in the New Year.  With its roaring fires, country house charm and the best in Scottish food and drink, the Roxburghe Hotel, Kelso is the ideal location for a houseparty style Hogmanay celebration this year.

This unique hotel with 22 bedrooms, a championship golf course and the full range of sporting pursuits on the Roxburghe Estate, offers a getaway destination little more than an hour’s drive from both Edinburgh and Newcastle.  The bedrooms, many of which feature four poster beds and some with log fires, offer a homely yet aristocratic retreat coupled with award winning dining, roaring fires and some special wines selected by the Duke from the cellars of nearby Floors Castle.

From the arrival with a warm and welcoming afternoon tea by the fire, to the champagne reception with canapés and solo harpist, the Hogmanay celebrations will start in style.  The evening itself will include a six course Gala Dinner and fine wine selection, prepared by head chef, Neville Merrin’s team.  Following dinner, a foot stomping traditional ceilidh will take guests through to midnight which will then be piped in and celebrated with champagne and a breathtaking firework display over the Estate.  Guests will enjoy a late night supper of Scottish stovies before heading for bed.

New Year’s Day will be seen in with style with a Jazz Brunch.  Guests can then enjoy the beauties of the Roxburghe Estate and even take in a round of golf on the championship golf course or enjoy the sporting pursuits on the Estate, a walk around the grounds or visits to local sights.

Prices at the Roxburghe start from £120 per night for B&B.
