Following on from its launch this summer, Azimo, the international money transfer service, has added an innovative new app to its offering. Available now, the mobile app will allow users to safely send money abroad, anytime, anywhere and in less than a minute.

Free to download from the App Store or Google Play, the app is PIN protected and incorporates other high-level security measures to protect users’ details. Customers simply log in via facebook or using their email and a nominated password and then upload details of funds they want to transfer. Mobile transfers receive exactly the same email confirmation as web based ones so the user can be sure when the recipient has received their money.

Just like the online service, the Azimo app allows users to send money any way they like - for cash collection, direct to bank accounts or to mobile phones. It is also integrated with social networks to speed up the process and transactions, allowing the user to log-in via Facebook, to select and make payments to friends directly.

The app even stores favourite beneficiaries automatically for faster booking as well as offering a “Fast Repeat” services so regular transactions can be performed in just a few clicks.

Users can continue to benefit from Azimo’s low rates that never cost the sender more than 2% of the total transaction. The app allows transfers to 150 countries and is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Simple to use, it features a clear and uncomplicated interface that is easy to navigate, whether you are new to money transfer or not, and users can check rates before they buy.

From international professionals, to migrant workers and expats, the app is aimed at all British and foreign nationals living in the UK or abroad, looking to make money transfers abroad.

Michael Kent, founder of Azimo says: “The Azimo app is a natural extension of the service as our objective was always to make transferring money abroad quick, easy and cost-effective. The new app will allow users to send money abroad on the go, at the touch of a button. With smart phones so widely available and social media prevailing worldwide, Azimo has always sought to embrace technology in order to improve the remittance experience.”

Azimo will not charge cardholders for using the mobile app but mobile network providers may charge, depending on the tariff and contract. The Azimo app is currently compatible with iPhones and Android Smartphones. For other handsets, all the features are available on the Azimo mobile website, where users can make transfers online.

‘Azimo’ means ‘something lent’, or ‘assistance’ in Swahili and in Arabic means ‘The Greatest’ or ‘He who will be great’.
