Taylor Wimpey currently has a superb collection of well-connected, rural properties for sale at its Beechbrook Park development in Buxted, East Sussex – as the Dorman family discovered.

A rural location with excellent commuter links topped the family’s wishlist when they were looking to relocate from the coast to a new property in East Sussex.

A search on the internet led them to Taylor Wimpey’s sought-after Beechbrook Park development of new homes in Buxted, and after visiting, the family of three were convinced their long-term future lay there.

They still had the matter of their own home to sell, in the seaside town of St Leonards-on-Sea, but by using the leading housebuilder’s Part Exchange incentive, they were delighted to find they could make a speedy, fuss-free move to their ideal new property in Buxted.

School business manager Sharon, wife of Ian and mum to seven-year-old Lily, says: “The whole Part Exchange process went very smoothly and quickly for us, with no hitches along the way.

“Now we are enjoying life in our new home in Buxted, which we knew we would, as soon as we visited the area.

“It’s a pretty village – very green, very rural and with fields just to the back of the development. We love to go out walking, and we’ve been out most days since we moved. We’re on the edge of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty here, so there’s some stunning scenery in the area.”

Although the Dormans have moved little more than 20 miles from their old house, as the crow flies, the impact on Ian’s commute has been significant.

An area manager for a firm near Chessington, Surrey, the 37-year-old’s journey time has been slashed from 90 to 40 minutes on a good day.

Sharon (41) has discovered finding a new job in the area wasn’t a problem either, as she quickly secured a business manager position at All Saints’ And St Richard’s Church Of England Primary School in Heathfield.

With a career in education, she was perfectly placed to judge the merits of schools in the area for Lily, and was delighted to find Beechbrook Park is close to some well-regarded schools.

“Buxted has its own primary school that’s just down the road and it’s a very pretty, rural school,” says Sharon. “In Uckfield there’s a secondary school which was found to be Outstanding by Ofsted, and Heathfield has a very good college.”

The Dormans moved into their new home, a four-bedroom house with double garage, in August, and are already finding it suits their lifestyle to a tee.

Sharon says: “It’s very spacious, with a large kitchen and a very big garden which is something we really wanted – we love it!”

There’s currently a superb selection of family-size homes available with Part Exchange, which lets customers relax in their current home until their new place at Beechbrook Park is ready to move into, with Taylor Wimpey acting as their guaranteed buyer.

Part Exchange customers receive the market value of their existing property, based on the average of independent professional valuations, with the agreed sum deducted from the price of their brand new purchase.

Three-bedroom houses are on sale at Beechbrook Park from only £300,000, four-bedroom houses are priced from just £440,000 and five-bedroom homes from £650,000. One and two-bedroom apartments are also available, priced from £165,000 and £195,000 respectively.

With a population of 3,000, Buxted is a peaceful yet thriving community located on the edge of the High Weald Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

The village boasts a healthy array of clubs, societies and community events, plus a range of activities including amateur dramatics, choir singing, a local orchestra and art society, while facilities are available for sports including archery, shooting, cricket, hockey, bowls and football.

Buxted has its own primary school, and a toddler group and pre-school are also located in the village, while day nurseries and secondary schooling can be found in nearby Uckfield.

There is a village store and pharmacy, a new medical centre, two pubs, plus a popular restaurant at nearby Buxted Park Hotel.

There are also plans for a new community hall in Buxted, while supermarkets, high street shops and other amenities can be found in the local market towns of Uckfield, which is two miles away, and Crowborough, which is six miles from home.

A haven for commuters, Buxted has its own railway station, which offers direct services to London Bridge in about 70 minutes. The village is also handy for the A22 with its routes to Eastbourne, London and the M25 and the A26 to Tunbridge Wells 15 miles away and Brighton, 21 miles from home. Gatwick Airport is also only 25 miles from the town.

Homeowners can find out more about using Part Exchange at Beechbrook Park by visiting the Sales Information Centre and showhomes, located in High Street, Buxted, and open daily between 10.30am and 5.30pm. Alternatively, visit taylorwimpey.co.uk/swt.
