SuperPro suspension bushes have long been the first choice of discerning tuners and race teams, so it came as little surprise to see many of the front-running protagonists using them during the 2012 UK Time Attack Championship. This year, two class champions used the Australian-made bushes to help them to victory.

Gavin Renshaw dominated the Pro Class throughout the season notching up five outright wins from just seven events. His highly tuned Mitsubishi Evo 9 features all manner of trick modifications and boasts a power output not that shy of a typical F1 car. Built and race-prepared by NR Autosport, and exploited to the full by Gavin’s immense driving talent, the Evo ran a full SuperPro road-spec bush kit as well as the firm’s Duroball increased caster bushes and a roll centre adjusting kit. Although the impressive engine spec was clearly part of the car’s success, the benign chassis set-up clearly made a significant contribution towards Renshaw’s dominance of the series.

In the Club RWD classes, Mike Cantelo had a similarly brilliant season at the helm of his finely-honed Vauxhall VX220. Despite the car running only around 280 bhp, Mike’s smooth style and impressive racecraft meant that he was nearly always the fastest car in class. After a skilful drive at a rain-sodden Snetterton finale, Mike took the 2012 title in epic style.

Commenting on the success of its supported drivers, SuperPro Europe’s Richard Fearn said ‘I would like to extend our congratulations to both Gavin and Mike – and of course, all of the drivers that ran SuperPro bushes in Time Attack this year. As an example of how capable the complex urethane formulation of our road product really is, I think these two brilliant wheelmen – and the teams behind them, really have proven what we’re all about. These kits are literally ‘off the shelf’ road kits. Even though these bushes have been signed off by manufacturers like Subaru UK as being compliant enough for accessory ranges, they’re still clearly more than up to the task of keeping top-level racecars in check. I’m delighted for both drivers and we look forward to working with them next year to continue their success.’

With Mitsubishi Bushes starting at around £13.00 And Vauxhall Bushes from £15.00 you don’t have to be a Time Attack Champion to appreciate the handling benefits that SuperPro can bring. For more information, visit superpro.eu.com.
