Post Office is giving a helping hand to new home insurance customers this winter guaranteeing to beat renewal premiums by at least £50.

New home insurance customers who wish to make the most of the new deal will also receive the below as standard:

Free 10 per cent extra contents cover during the festive period and weddings
Contents replaced on a new-for-old basis
A 24/7 claims helpline - because accidents don't always happen in business hours

In addition, if Post Office can't beat an existing provider's renewal on a like-for-like basis, the difference plus £50 will be refunded onto the card used for payment no later than 60 days after policy start date.

Paul Havenhand, Head of Insurance at Post Office, said: "As people continue to feel the pinch this winter, they will be looking for ways to ease the pressure on the purse strings. Alongside other benefits, we hope that helping people beat their renewal premiums by at least £50 will allow new customers to get the most of their money as well as the best quote possible."
