Winter break to the New Forest

The 900-year-old ‘New’ Forest really is a four-season destination and winter is a great time to visit. Enjoy long walks in the forest or on the commons and reward yourself with a tipple or two at one of the many pubs which now have their open fires, crackling away in the hearths.
Cottage Lodge – a five-star, eco, boutique B&B in Brockenhurst – is offering three-nights for the price of two from 5 November to the end of February (excludes, Christmas, New Year, school holidays and Saturdays).
Calling the property a B&B does Cottage Lodge a huge disservice; the 14-room property has individually designed and furnished rooms which would not look out of place on the pages of a glossy design magazine.
One room houses the ‘driftwood’ bed, which was constructed entirely by hand from a rescued New Forest Ash tree by local furniture wood sculptor Rob Dyer who lives locally in the New Forest. The tree was also used to make the bedside table, table and wardrobe.
There is a strong ‘eco’ theme throughout Cottage Lodge with furnishings, decorating, flooring and power supply all chosen for their environmentally-friendly properties (one room even has a bike which can be used to power the television).
The special winter ‘three-nights-for-the-price-of-two’ offer costs from just £75 pp (two sharing a room), including Cottage Lodge’s famous New Forest Marque breakfast!
