Savings drive buyers to Barton

Savvy buyers are moving across the Humber Bridge to Barton following a reduction in toll fees.

In the six months since the cost of travelling across the bridge was cut to £1.50, there’s been a reported 7.37% increase in traffic flow. This has included an increase in visitors to Redrow’s Fox’s Fold development in Barton upon Humber. They’ve been attracted by the combination of the location, specification and value for money.

Patsy Aicken, sales director for Redrow Homes (Yorkshire), says: “The reduction in the Humber Bridge tolls has had a direct impact on Fox’s Fold, where more than 80% of visitors are now from Hull and the surrounding area. We’ve taken around a dozen reservations from those who want to move across the bridge. We anticipate that more people will follow suit now that the cost of commuting has been cut by £30 a week.

“One of the big selling points is that property prices here compare favourably to places like Brough and Beverley and buyers are surprised by just how much is included in our standard specification.”

According to home.co.uk the average asking price for a three-bedroom home in Beverley is £183,565, rising to £252,286 in Brough; whereas at Fox’s Fold three-bedroom homes available from £129,999 and four-bedroom homes from £167,999.

Located in Tofts Road, Fox’s Fold features designs from the sought-after New Heritage Collection. The homes look traditional from the outside, taking inspiration from the architecture of the Arts and Crafts era, yet are bright, modern and full of family-friendly features inside.

The Redrow standard specification boasts items customers may not normally expect to be included in a new home, such as fitted wardrobes, built-in book shelves, outside lights and under lighting to kitchen units.

Open plan layouts put the kitchen at the heart of the home. Those kitchens are well equipped with integrated top brand name appliances including oven, hob, microwave and fridge freezer, plus tall cabinets and extra wide drawers that offer plenty of storage space.

Family bathrooms and en-suites to master bedrooms enjoy quality fixtures and fittings, with a tile range exclusive to Redrow.

Patsy added: “Well insulated with double glazing and central heating included as standard, our new homes are around 40% more energy efficient than homes built just 10 years ago. It means householders won’t have to worry about turning up the heating to keep warm this winter and could find they save money on their fuel bills.”

For more information about the homes available at Fox’s Fold, visit the development, open Thursday to Monday from 10am to 5.30pm. Alternatively see redrow.co.uk/foxs.
