Sales success for Redrow in Bilston

With more than half of the homes in the current phase of Chestnut Walk in Bilston now sold, buyers have given the properties their seal of approval.

Redrow launched the development in March 2011 and to date 41 of the 71 properties have been sold.

Pauline Turnbull, sales director for Redrow Homes (Midlands), commented: “We’ve come a long way since we released the first homes at Chestnut Walk for sale and the former industrial site has now been transformed. The area has undergone major regeneration and people have been keen to purchase properties here. Home buyers continue to be attracted by our New Heritage Collection homes which combine traditional exteriors and bright modern interiors, full of family friendly features. Following the success of the first phase, we’re planning to increase the choice of homes available with the launch of a second phase in the New Year.”

Chestnut Walk already offers a good range of two, three and four-bedroom homes with current prices from £119,995.

They all boast well equipped kitchens with integrated top brand name appliances including oven, hob, microwave and fridge freezer, plus tall cabinets and extra wide drawers that offer plenty of storage.

Bathrooms and en-suites enjoy quality fixtures and fittings, with a tile range exclusive to Redrow.

“One of the advantages of buying a new home over an older property is that you’re not inheriting the previous owner’s decor but can personalise it from day one by choosing the finish of things like the kitchen cabinets and bathroom tiles,” Pauline added.

“Another big plus is the ease of maintenance and the built-in energy efficiency measures. With double glazing and central heating included as standard they’re potentially cheaper to run than their second hand counterparts, so householders should save money on fuel bills.”

Those who want to move to a brand new home at Chestnut Walk could find they only need a 5% deposit thanks to the NewBuy initiative. Designed to kick-start the housing industry, the Government-backed scheme enables customers to buy brand new homes with a mortgage for up to 95% of the purchase price.

The good news is, it’s open to first time buyers and existing home owners and is ideal for those who can meet the monthly mortgage repayments but perhaps don’t have a large deposit or substantial equity in the home they’re moving from.

Located on the banks of the Dudley Canal, the homes at Chestnut Walk are within walking distance of local amenities in Bilston, including shops, schools, the new state-of-the-art Bert Williams Leisure Centre and the soon to open South Wolverhampton and Bilston Academy.

Good access to the M5 and M6 motorways means they’re well suited to those who commute.
