Redrow acquires land in Gloucestershire

Leading housebuilder Redrow returns to Gloucestershire with a new 22-acre site in Hardwicke. The new site comes with outline planning permission for up to 200 new homes.
Lee Hawker, land director for Redrow (South West), said: “We are delighted to have secured this key strategic site and welcome the return to the Gloucestershire market place. It is a beautiful part of the country and our priority is to deliver a high quality development. We look forward to working with Stroud District Council on our Reserved Matters Application so that these new homes can quickly make a vital contribution to Stroud District’s housing land supply.”
Redrow plans to commence infrastructure work in early spring 2013 with the first properties being available in late summer 2013. The new site will be home to 123 private properties, consisting of two, three, four and five bedroom homes as well as 52 affordable properties.
The houses available at this new location will be from the New Heritage Collection, delivering 21st Century living with a design that captures the essence of a traditional British home. The New Heritage collection was designed by Redrow following an overwhelming demand from customers looking for the traditional homes they’ve often grown up in, but with contemporary interiors and built-in efficiency.
As with all Redrow developments the housebuilder will also be making substantial contributions to the local community in the form of £1million towards primary and secondary education, £150,000 towards to travel plan and transport improvements, a £40,000 library contribution and 30% affordable housing at the new site.
