Those considering downsizing to a more manageable home in their retirement are being invited to experience the benefits of a move to Grange Court in Solihull.

Aspen Retirement is throwing open the doors of the development in Warwick Road from noon to 2pm on Wednesday, December 5th. Would-be home owners and their families will be able to view the facilities, find out about the support available and find out first hand from those who have already moved to Grange Court what life is like in an Aspen apartment.

Liz Herring, sales and marketing manager for Aspen Retirement, says: “We want people to take a fresh look at their options for retirement living and join us at Grange Court for sherry and mince pies as they look around and meet home owners who’ll be happy to tell them how their lifestyle has been improved since moving here. It’s a small and friendly development, where the staff genuinely care and firm friendships are quickly established between new neighbours. Those who come along for the event will be able to get a feel for the sense of the community that exists and try out some of the communal facilities.”

Grange Court offers home owners to enjoy an easier lifestyle in their retirement, free from the worry of maintaining a large house and garden.

The emphasis is very much on living independently but with support available.

“One of the things people love about Grange Court is that there’s always something going on here so they can join in with games nights, keep fit sessions or coffee mornings or if they want some quiet time they can enjoy the privacy that comes with having their own front door,” Liz adds.

“Home owners are able to retain their independence, but also benefit from the reassurance of having a manager on site five mornings a week and a 24-hour emergency call-out system. There’s also the opportunity for more personal care to be arranged if and when it’s needed.”

Grange Court offers one, two and three-bedroom apartments from £164,950 to £314,950.

Shared equity is available as an option and could reduce the cost of an apartment to £131,960 with Aspen retaining a 20% share.

Communal facilities at the development include a combined lounge and library with patio doors opening on to the private gardens where home owners can enjoy the outdoors but let the gardener take care of all the hard work and a guest suite for when friends and family come to stay.

The nearby Dovehouse Parade caters for residents’ every day needs as there’s a pharmacy, hairdressers, florist, dry cleaners, convenience shops, greengrocers, butchers, fishmongers, eateries and takeaway outlets.
