Virgin Media WiFi arrives at 20 more London Underground stations
Another 20 London Underground stations have come online thanks to Virgin Media’s WiFi service on London Underground. The new stations, including Camden Town, Clapham Common Notting Hill Gate and Russell Square, bring the total number of WiFi enabled stations to 92 with a further 28 stations due to come online in early 20131.
The London Underground stations joining Virgin Media’s WiFi service are:

800,000 people have registered with Virgin Media WiFi, launched as a free service for 2012, using the service to stay up-to-date with TfL travel information, Tweet, access apps, update Facebook and send emails whilst underground.
Jon James, executive director of broadband at Virgin Media said: “WiFi on London Underground has been an incredible success and we’ve rolled out the service to reach even more stations throughout London, from Camden Town to Clapham Common. Our wholesale agreement with EE and Vodafone will keep the majority of Tube users connected for no extra cost and every Londoner and visitor can choose from affordable PAYG options with free, up-to-the-minute travel, news and entertainment for everyone.”
Gareth Powell, Director of Strategy and Service Development for London Underground, said: “Thousands of our customers are already using WiFi at Tube stations to keep up-to-date with live travel information, news and entertainment. The arrival of WiFi at these extra 20 stations will allow even more of our passengers to connect to the net while they are on the move across London.”
Virgin Media recently announced EE and Vodafone UK as wholesale partners for its WiFi service on London Underground. Millions of EE, Vodafone and Virgin Media customers2 will be able to enjoy full WiFi access across London Underground following the deal, keeping the majority of Tube passengers connected for no extra cost3 in 2013 and beyond.
Virgin Media will also launch a Pay As You Go (PAYG) service in early 2013, with daily, weekly and monthly passes4, giving Tube passengers a range of options about how to get online underground.
Virgin Media’s comprehensive WiFi portal will continue to keep all Tube passengers up-to-date with TfL travel information and great London news and entertainment for free.
