Taylor Wimpey is helping to fund a new route to connect its Carrington Grange development of new houses for sale in Tewin with the heart of the Hertfordshire village.

Leading housebuilder Taylor Wimpey is donating £6,000 to the local parish council as part of its Carrington Grange development of new homes in Tewin, Hertfordshire.

Carrington Grange will comprise 17 private four, five and six-bedroom detached new homes for sale in Tewin, in a secluded location off Upper Green Road.

Taylor Wimpey Hertfordshire is making a £6,000 contribution to Tewin Parish Council – and the authority is planning to spend this on extending a footpath which will link the development and Upper Green with the heart of the village.

Parish clerk, Caroline McFarlane, says: “The money is hopefully to go towards the footpath so people will be able to walk all the way to the shop and the village facilities on the pavement. That’s what we’re planning, but it’s subject to costs.

“In an ideal world people moving into the new development will want to walk into the village, taking their children to school for example, and with a new footpath they’ll be able to do this.”

Taylor Wimpey’s contribution to the parish council will be made following the first legal completion of a private house purchase at its Carrington Grange development of new-build houses in Tewin.

Further Section 106 contributions totalling more than £120,000 are also earmarked towards sustainable transport, youth provision, libraries and education in the wider Hertfordshire area.

Christine Scarborough, Regional Sales and Marketing Director for Taylor Wimpey Tewin, says: “This investment in Tewin reflects our belief that building a new homes development is about more than just providing high-quality properties for people to live in – it is about giving homebuyers the chance to be part of a thriving community.

“Our donation to the parish council and our wider community contribution will benefit local people – young and old – as well as new homeowners at Carrington Grange in ways which will be felt for years to come. This is part of Taylor Wimpey’s commitment to the future of the communities we build.”

The new homes at Carrington Grange are bordered by peaceful open countryside, with the idyllic village green right on the doorstep.

Tewin also boasts a host of everyday amenities including two pubs, a shop, a primary school and a wealth of traditional village societies and activities including a cricket and a tennis club.

The Carrington Grange Sales Information Centre is located off Upper Green Road, Tewin, AL6 0LU, and open Thursday to Sunday from 10am to 5.30pm and Mondays from 2pm to 5.30pm. Alternatively, log on to taylorwimpey.co.uk/norththames.
