The first release of new homes in the multi-million pound development of Dargavel Village, Bishopton in Renfrewshire are now on sale from two new sales information centres accessed off the recently completed North Access Road. With queues of eager buyers this weekend at both developments, sales of new homes are off to an impressive start with eight new homes sold within the first few hours.

First in the Taylor Wimpey queue was Alison Pollok and Adam Goodall of Bishopton who camped out from 5pm on Friday (18 January) to claim their new Taylor Wimpey home: “We’re excited about buying a new family home but were apprehensive about sleeping overnight. The temperature was -1 and then got down to -8 with the wind chill. We have already picked our plot and are delighted not to have to compromise.”

First buyer for Persimmon Homes was Julie Dempsey of Erskine: “This is the third time that I’ve bought a brand new home, but I last moved 14 years ago. I need more room for the kids and I will be moving back ‘home’ to Bishopton so will be near my parents and both of my best friends.”

Persimmon Homes (including its exclusive Charles Church range) and Taylor Wimpey – have launched a wide choice of three, four and five bedroom family homes for sale as the vision of the master-plan for this area takes another major step forward. A further release of 89 four and five bedroom detached family homes by CALA is coming soon.

Taylor Wimpey West Scotland’s first development in Dargavel Village, Bishopton will provide 147 new homes comprising a range of three, four and five bedroom houses in a variety of styles and sizes which will appeal to a wide range of buyers considering a move to this easily accessible, rural location. Prices start from £170,000 for the three bedroom semi detached Balfour up to £290,000 for the four bedroom detached Stewart 2.

Persimmon Homes and Charles Church at Dargavel Village, Bishopton will offer 146 family homes with a choice of three, four and five bedroom modern houses to suit all tastes and budgets, with prices for Persimmon Homes starting from £147,995 for a three bedroom Nairn terraced home up to £249,995 for a four bedroom detached home, whilst Charles Church will offer four and five bedroom detached homes from £279,995.

Each of the housebuilders’ individual developments benefits from a design brief that offers residents interesting street scenes and detailed landscaping along with specific tree-planting around character areas that will be reflected at key points across the wider development as the vision for the master-plan unfolds.

The launch of the residential housing in phase one builds on an investment of £32 million by BAE Systems which focused on land clearance, the construction of primary access roads and the installation of essential utilities. Completion of the North Access Road at the end of 2012, the provision of services and the opening of two marketing suites demonstrates just how much advancement is being made at Dargavel Village as Lynda Johnstone, Bishopton Project Director for BAE Systems adds: “Significant progress has been made on the site over the last few months with a number of key milestones reached.

“In the coming weeks, the landscape will change considerably once again as we move into the exciting stage of house building and I’m looking forward to seeing first hand, the ongoing transformation of the area as our vision takes another step closer to becoming a reality.”

Taylor Wimpey is one of the largest homebuilders in the UK, helping to create new homes and communities across the country. Audrey Ross, sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey West Scotland said: "Taylor Wimpey is delighted to offer some of the first new homes for sale at Dargavel Village, Bishopton bringing the master-plan vision for the area to life, and it’s been encouraging to see such a positive reaction to the opening of our sales area.

“I’m sure buyers at Dargavel Village, Bishopton will be impressed with the range and choice of new homes that we have available in this first phase, and of course it’s a great chance to be involved in one of Scotland’s largest property projects right from the beginning – so it’s a very exciting time.

“We are offering ways in which to help buyers make their move – so incentives such as part-exchange, shared equity and the recently launched MI New Home Scheme that offers up to 95% mortgages will be available on selected plots.”

Dargavel Village, Bishopton is now well and truly on the map as Ingrid Gahagan, sales director for Persimmon Homes West Scotland comments: “During our pre-launch phase we’ve been impressed by the demand for information from new home buyers hoping to make their move to Dargavel Village. And we’re delighted to see so many eager buyers at our launch weekend, and are confident this will continue over the coming weeks.

“This is a strategic and significant development for the west of Scotland, and it’s exciting for Persimmon Homes to be one of the lead developers to deliver a fantastic range of new homes that will help to create a beautiful place to call home.

“Persimmon Homes have launched with seven styles of three, four and five bedroom homes and are offering part exchange, MI New Home and shared equity on selected plots. Buyers will also have the chance to purchase from our exclusive Charles Church range of four and five bedroom detached homes so there’s a new home here to suit a wide range of buyers.”

Liana Canavan, sales and marketing director for CALA Homes (West) adds: “We are delighted to be involved in a development of this scale that will provide beautiful modern homes within the picturesque rural setting of Bishopton. Our development of 89 four and five bedroom homes is coming soon.”
