A touch of contemporary elegance at Varcity South

29th January 2013 Print

Award winning Varcity South, 5-star builder Miller Homes’ flagship development in the Capital has been given a make-over for 2013 courtesy of Jeffreys Interiors, one of Scotland’s leading interior design companies.

Interest in owning property at Varcity South continues to grow, with a mixture of professional purchasers and those seeking to buy a second home in the city. As the development moves into releasing flats on the Eyre Campus, the new showflat makes the most of the stunning development and draws on a contemporary theme to ensure that the interior of the relaxing, spacious apartment reflects the needs and desires of today’s buyers.

With a modern feel, dressed in classic taupes and neutral tones throughout, the apartment exudes sophistication from the second you step through the door. An elegant cream pin stripe Alternative Flooring carpet flows throughout providing a luxurious backdrop to each room.

The lounge creates a relaxing, family space with an impressive John Sankey taupe linen sofa with leather piping dressed with dual aspect Designers Guild cushions adding a spark of colour. Framed with low level stand-alone lighting and decadent spherical walnut side tables, the scene is set with two Porada designer armchairs. A commanding granite wall feature introduces a contrasting tone and texture to the chic living space.

Leading onto a generous dining area where 8 could eat comfortably, the emphasis on chilling-out continues with a feature ‘bookcase’ wall framing the dining area. From the dining area, the flat extends out to a balcony with space for a table and chairs to enjoy the winter sun.

The black high gloss kitchen comes complete with cooker, hob, extractor fan, washer/dryer and fridge freezer as standard. For those seeking to upgrade, the optional wine cooler might hit the spot. A neutral deep concrete effect worktop complements the sleek lines and coordinates with the Porcelanosa Avenue floor tiles.

The master bedroom with en-suite has a timeless classic feel to it. Dressed in soft taupe colours the room oozes European decadence with Christian Lacroix forum fuschia cushions bringing a touch of colour, coupled with a luxurious Designers Guild Wilson Natural blanket similarly edged in pink completing the look on the bed.

The second double bedroom has elegant painted panelling framing the bed and modern bedside lamps. Linen, voile and wood contrast the neutral colours to create a welcoming space to relax and unwind in.

A family bathroom with a three piece white suite including bath, black tiled flooring, high gloss white tiled walls and a picture mirror, completes the apartment.

Alison Vance, Design Director at award winning Jeffreys Interiors said: “We wanted to create a calm, uncluttered and sophisticated living space. To achieve this we have used a classic colour pallet that is warm and inviting throughout. Using a mixture of hard and soft furnishings and textures, we have created complimentary moods for each room without compromising on functionality. The contemporary style suits the layout at Varcity South well and we’ve created a very liveable, modern home which makes the most of the light and space in the apartments.”

Anne Marie Britton, Sales Director at Miller Homes Scotland East said: “Varcity South is a popular development and as we move into releasing the Eyre Campus we continue to receive a lot of interest in the homes.

“With many of the buyers selecting Varcity South as a second home their practical needs differ. They can afford to introduce classic, simple yet elegant designs for their city dwelling and the new showflat is an excellent example of what can be done to transform these stunning apartments into an even more desirable, bespoke home.”

Located on the former Telford College site on Crewe Road South, against the backdrop of the prestigious Fettes College, Varcity South offers an eclectic mix of modern, spacious homes from one bedroom apartments to penthouses, as well as the cityhouses. Prices start from £159,000 to £379,000 with a range of 1, 2, 3 bed apartments and 4 bed cityhouse.

Scott Brown, site manager at Varcity South was the regional winner for Scotland East at the NHBC Pride in the Job Awards and runner up in the highly acclaimed Supreme Awards announced earlier this month in London.
