Those thinking of downsizing their home to somewhere more manageable in their retirement could find that Queen Anne Court in Quedgeley not only meets their needs but exceeds them.

Independent living, the support of friendly staff, a good sense of community and excellent communal facilities are just some of the advantages of moving to the Aspen Retirement development.

Homeowners can also enjoy lower fuel bills and ease of maintenance.

With so much to offer retirees, it’s no surprise that there are now only a handful of properties still available. Opportunities to join them are limited, but the good news is Aspen is offering to make moving easier so that customers can enjoy the benefits of living at Queen Anne Court.

Liz Herring, sales and marketing manager for Aspen, explains: “The anxiety of selling a house and all that involves can lead people to stay put rather than have to deal with the stress that’s often associated with moving. It can be particularly daunting for those who left things like this to their husband and now that they’re on their own they don’t know what to do. With that in mind we’re offering to take care of everything from helping to find a buyer for their old home and paying the fees. We can even arrange the removals.”

The final properties include apartments, priced from £184,950, and bungalows from £219,950.

One of the remaining homes is a two-bedroom semi-detached bungalow featuring a breakfast kitchen and living room. French doors open out from the living room onto a south facing patio which leads to a secluded part of the communal gardens.

Both those living in the apartments and the bungalows have access to hotel style facilities, including a restaurant, lounge, a conservatory and even a guest suite for friends and relatives to stay.

Regular domestic help is provided to each homeowner and a landscape gardener adds the finishing touches to the outside space.

“Visitors to Queen Anne Court are pleasantly surprised that not all retirement complexes are the same and that we have created somewhere they or their parents or even grandparents can be truly happy in later years. Home owners can hold on to their independence while benefitting from the support of friendly staff and choose just how much they become involved with the community that’s developed here,” Liz adds.

Located off Bristol Road, Queen Anne Court, provides a great range of amenities on the doorstep, including a medical centre and a large supermarket. The local transport network includes a regular bus service to and from Gloucester city centre, while Stroud is only 10 miles away.
