Wales uncovers Rare Hideaways
Today sees the launch of Rare Hideaways, a unique collection of over 30 top-quality self-catering accommodation found the length and breadth of Wales.
The collection – with properties accommodating from 2 to 18 people – includes barn conversions, traditional miners’ cottages, converted watermills, windmills and grand country houses.
The selection options on the website allows the user to quickly identify specific requirements for a property, for example; a swimming pool or hot tub, child friendliness, coastal or rural location, historical importance, pets welcome, and local gastronomy, to name just some.
The programme also has a section on things to do in Wales, including details for walking, cycling and fishing, plus a listing of food festivals taking place throughout the year.
Rare Hideaways is the latest venture from Welsh Rarebits, established over 25 years ago and now widely regarded as the quintessential guide to the best hotels in Wales with quality, hospitality, gastronomy and value for money at its core.

The Windmill on Anglesey is a listed building dating from 1741, which has been restored with great care and thought, retaining its very special historic character while offering 21st-century standards of comfort and luxury. Sleeping four, in two double bedrooms, it costs from £655 for a week.
Historic, Grade II Star-listed Llanfendigaid Estate near Tywyn on the west coast of Wales, is a substantial, stone-built house, dating from the 13th century and has been in the same family for over 800 years. Half a mile from the coast, the magnificent property which has an indoor swimming pool sleeps 17 people in 9 bedrooms, with a week’s rental from £1750.
Hall Farm Barn is a Rarebits Hideaway that is located in a secluded, spectacular and serene setting perched on the shoulder of Sugar Loaf Mountain between Crickhowell and Abergavenny, with glorious views across the Brecon Beacons National Park.
