Spring arrives at Eastfields
Spring has arrived early at Bellway Homes’ flourishing Eastfields development on the east side of Glasgow. As the launch of the Eden and Rosebery showhomes, both infused with warm interiors, combined with a great choice of incentives are sure to chase away the last of the winter blues.
Situated off Myreside Street in South Carntyne and representing one of Bellway Homes’ largest housing projects in the west of Scotland to date, Eastfields is a substantial development ranging from modern one-bedroom apartments to striking four-bedroom townhouses.
The Eden, a three-bedroom semi-detached property, and the three-bedroom detached Rosebery aptly demonstrate why the development continues to attract a variety of buyers, from local families wanting to upsize to first time buyers attracted by the competitive pricing of the properties and the close proximity of Eastfields to the city centre.
Further adding to the appeal of this development, is that Bellway Homes has several tailored incentives available at Eastfields, including Part Exchange and 5% Deposit Paid.
Under Part Exchange, a buyer can effectively swap their existing property for a new home. Bellway Homes ensures an independent evaluation is carried out on a client’s current property, guaranteeing a fair offer. The company also covers estate agent’s costs, including the Home Report and any associated marketing costs, providing buyers with substantial savings in the process.
With ‘5% Deposit Paid’ Bellway Homes provides a maximum of 5% of the purchase price as a contribution towards a buyer’s deposit. The bigger the deposit purchasers can put down the better the interest rate they will receive.
The company is also a provider of MI New Home - a 95% mortgage scheme implemented by housebuilders. This incentive aims to help first time buyers and homeowners with between a 5% and 10% deposit secure a new home up to the value of £250,000.
Fraser Conn, Sales and Marketing Director at Bellway Homes, says: “Eastfields is a development where you can truly claim that there is something for everyone. With this in mind, we are providing a choice of incentives that enable buyers to choose the one most suited to their current circumstances.
“Also, with the recent introduction of MI New Homes, which is backed by the Scottish Government, this effectively brings the 95% mortgage back to the market. It aims to support those buyers who have previously struggled with a large deposit requirement.”
The Eden lounge is a stylish and modern interior that tastefully pays homage to the psychedelic art of the 1960’s. Two large white sofas sit opposite one another, separated by a rich smoky grey carpet. A large plasma screen is the focal point of the room, hung above a contemporary glacier-white sideboard. On either side of the TV screen, two matching abstract canvases hang, displaying a vibrant montage of colours.
The fully fitted kitchen in the Eden features high-gloss white units that contrast with the warm, sandy tones of the large Amtico floor tiles. Abstract influences are found on the feature wall of the dining area, with its bold floor-to-ceiling frieze.
On the upper floor of the Eden, the abstract theme continues within the en-suite master bedroom, where the outsized headboard acts as a visual echo to some cryptic board game. In contrast, the rest of this room is more muted – a charcoal grey feature wall, ebony duvet cover and white bed linen fashion a very grown up ambience.
The two remaining bedrooms are more pop art than abstract paintings. Bedroom two evokes summer, as vibrant yellow curtains, a yolk coloured headboard and a rainbow inspired bedcover create a light and airy interior. Completing the look of this room is a print of Andy Warhol’s famous poster of Marilyn Munroe.
In bedroom three, homage has been reserved for enthusiasts of the comic or graphic book genre, as a large wall painting emblazoning the word ‘KA-POW!’ in green, turquoise and yellow is sure to evoke memories of childhood superheroes.
The Rosebery presents a more tranquil and subdued interior. The spacious lounge, with adjoining dining room, has been decorated with relaxation in mind. The duck egg blue walls and elegant white furniture generate a peaceful symmetry. The luxurious, L-shaped taupe velvet sofa provides the perfect retreat to unwind at the end of the day. Six sumptuous mauve dining chairs surround glass table, enabling diners to enjoy views over the garden via the adjacent French doors.
The kitchen of the Rosebery has been beautifully finished – featuring a mixture of walnut wood and champagne coloured fitted units, which effortlessly harmonise with the marble work-surface.
The en-suite master-bedroom mixes soft calicos with rich chocolate in the soft furnishings. The king size, traditional French Bergere bed design, complete with layer rattan and delicate carved detail, is the definitive slumber chamber. The remaining two bedrooms present a similar look, as crisp white fabrics are intermingled with accent colours of navy and azure blues.
When the company launched Eastfields in 2007, the Commonwealth Games seemed a long way off. However, now just over a year away, this part of the city has undergone an extensive transformation.
Aside from the regeneration taking place, Eastfields also benefits from a choice of local amenities, such as The Forge Shopping Centre and Tollcross Park Leisure Centre, with its 50-metre swimming pool, gym, dance studio, health suite, sauna, spa and steam room.
The city centre is just seven minutes by train from Carntyne Station to Queen Street Station. Links to the nearby M8 motorway network connect this part of the city to all the major road routes across the central belt.
Prices at the development currently range from £76,995 to £170,995.
