Rhossili Bay cottages - close to the Best Beach in Britain

Tripadvisor’s 2013 survey sees Rhossili on the Gower Peninsula voted best beach in the UK.  Good news for holiday cottages in the area and for Sykes Cottages which has a choice of more than a dozen.

Rhossili’s beautiful bay stretches for three miles at the tip of the Gower Peninsula and is popular with dog walkers (no restrictions) and surfers who make the most of the Atlantic rollers. Access is by a path from National Trust land at the top of the cliffs, though the climb back is steep!

Just five miles along quiet lanes from Rhossili Beach is Corner Cottage, a white-washed holiday cottage in a great location, on the village green in the small community of Reynoldston.

Sleeping up to six this four-star standard dog-friendly property is 10 minutes’ drive from Rhossili and enjoys the best of both worlds: the benefits of village living, with the pub and a shop within two minutes’ walk, and easy access to the coast.  Three-night short breaks start at £320 this spring, with a week in August costing up to £810.

A few minutes away, just outside the village of Penuel, are two attractive barn conversions at Tircoch Holiday Cottages: The Dairy, and The Stall.  These four-star standard holiday cottages each sleep four people in single-storey accommodation on a working farm, surrounded by open countryside running down to the sea.

The cottages – at which dogs are welcome – can be booked together, and a connecting door unlocked, for larger parties. A three-night short break costs from £260 for four people, with a week in August costing from £669.
