Houses with large plot sizes have been well received from parents looking for family homes at Taylor Wimpey South Wales’ Golwg Y Coed development in Barry. Aside from the health benefits gardening provides, gardens offer space for playing with children, give people the room to have fashionable dedicated vegetable plots, whilst still having an entertaining area especially for the ‘grown ups’.

Golwg Y Coed has various homes on offer, but on the edge of the development there is a limited collection of properties which benefit from large plot sizes. These houses have generated considerable interest in the lead up to spring and only two now remain available. These homes are also surrounded by trees and to the front of the properties there is a green playing area, offering even more space for children to play together.

Sara Taylor, sales and marketing manager for Taylor Wimpey South Wales, states: “Parents want the best for their children and we have noticed an increasing number of people enquiring after these family homes at Golwg Y Coed. Towards the start of spring mothers especially appear to prioritise what the outside space can offer. The green setting appeals to families and the garden is a blank canvas for parents and children to get creative outdoors.”

NetMums has also promoted the benefits of gardening to mothers and encouraged parents to take time to garden with their children. The UK's top online parenting organisation states that the hobby is a great way for young children to develop physical skills. These include hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills, they also advise that children need to develop these skills before they can hold and control a pen or pencil.*

Plots 24 and 25 are the only homes in this limited collection still available. These houses are beautiful five bedroom Lindford homes which benefit from an integral double garage and are priced from £349,995.

The development has a range of three, four and five bedroom homes and prices start from £279,995 for the Cowbridge house type. Golwg Y Coed is located just off Port Road and has easy road access to Cardiff and Barry, as well as direct rail links to Cardiff. The location is also ideal for families with eight reputable primary schools within an eight mile radius. Within easy reach is the popular retail park Culverhouse Cross and Barry also has a range of shops including high street names.
