Stasis Revo Group headline sponsors for GTI International 2013

The Stasis Revo Group (SRG) has announced that it will continue its headline sponsorship of the UK’s premier VW event; GTI International. The respected VAG tuning house will build on the success of its association with last year’s event as the show moves to its new home at Shakespeare County Raceway, near Stratford-upon-Avon, for 2013.

This year's event, over the weekend of July 6-7, looks set to offer more than ever before, with a packed itinerary of the UK’s finest show cars, the fastest race machinery, premier extreme attractions and of course, the superbly attended trader’s village. With the move to an MSA-accredited venue for 2013, complete with its fully-prepped, pro-quality quarter mile, visitors can also expect the famed sprint track to move up several notches!

Organisers AutoMetrix Publications are pulling out every stop to make this year’s event that bit extra special. Supported by the SRG Dealer network, expect to see some of Europe’s finest and fastest ‘dubs battling it out head to head over the quarter mile sprint. Can anyone beat the best time of 2012, the 9.91-second quarter-mile ET posted by Andy Waite's 4WD Mk 1 Golf 20VT? Only the ultra-precise timing slips can tell the tale…

Other favourites will be the Show ‘n’ Shine and Concours with great prizes on offer for the finest cars, a mobile dyno, club displays, Autojumble and plenty for the whole clan to do, over what promises to be a fantastic family weekend. Mixing it up a little, Revo will also be laying on a return of BMX Tricks alongside a series of physics-defying Freestyle Motocross displays from its sponsored riders.

Better still, this year’s GTI International will represent even better value than ever, thanks to reduced ticket prices compared to the 2012 event. Entry to the Show on the day will cost £15 instead of £20 and this comes down even further, to £12.50, if booked in advance.

Camping is also very well priced for 2013. One night’s stay will be £35 and two nights, £40, with these prices including full entry to the show. Booked in advance, these prices come down to £29 and £33.50. All facilities are on site including full toilets/shower blocks and plentiful catering - so why not make a full weekend of it?

Despite the vastly superior track surface – and full MSA timing gear and slips, Sprint prices are also down, compared to recent years. A single Sprint run will now cost £5 and a ticket for a half day, with as many runs as you can pack in, will cost £15. A full day’s sprinting, with unlimited runs, will cost just £25 - and a full weekend’s sprinting will be £40! Making this the cheapest RWYB session in the UK!

Commenting on the announcement, SRG managing director, James Leng said, ‘We were delighted with our sponsorship of Inters 2012, and this year’s event promises even more. The fact that the event is now on a fully-prepped track makes the sprint action safer, faster and more enjoyable, and we’re looking forward to debuting many of our 2013 demonstration vehicles at the show. All this, combined with new acts and attractions and a lower ticket price makes me think that this will be the best event yet!’
