Donington Historic Festival unveils 2013 timetable

With the reveal of the timetable for the 2013 Donington Historic Festival (May 3rd, 4th, 5th), featuring spectacular racing action on all three days, visitors are guaranteed hugely competitive historic motorsport across the whole weekend.
This is the first year that the Festival has included a Friday in its schedule, and the organisers are marking the occasion in style by staging one of the biggest races of the weekend on that afternoon. The Pre-63 GT race will see one of the most beautiful and valuable grids of the whole Festival out in action, with SWB 250 Ferraris set to line up against DB4 GT Astons, E-type Jaguars, Morgans, AC Aces, Lotus Elites, etc.,all highly evocative of the old Tourist Trophy races.
Friday qualifying will feature a superb variety of grids: the HGPCA Nuvolari Trophy pre-1940 GP cars, the Royal Automobile Club Woodcote Trophy pre-56 sportscars, pre-66 and 66-85 Touring Cars, Historic F2 and pre-72 sports-racing cars. Racing starts at 3.55pm, with the E-Type Challenge, Formula Junior and Pre-63 GT grids. Friday audiences will also enjoy the full complement of track parades and demonstrations and off-track attractions, including the Ayrton Senna tribute and historic rally action, making the perfect start to the weekend.
It’s (highly entertaining) business as usual for the Festival on the Saturday and Sunday, with a magnificent array of historic racing cars of all ages, shapes and sizes, including pre-War Grand Prix cars, glamorous 1950s and ’60s sportscars, single-seaters and classic Touring Cars – plus the mighty Group C cars – doing battle out on the track, together with the busy programme of demonstrations and off-track attractions. And, on all three days, spectators will have full access to the open paddock, so they can really get a good look at the glorious display of historic racing machinery gathered together for the weekend.

“We were determined that spectators who can only come along on the Friday would enjoy just as great a show as those who attend on the Saturday and Sunday. As we have such a remarkable wealth of content, it wasn’t difficult to make sure this happens without in any way weakening the content on the other days,” said Festival organiser Duncan Wiltshire.
“So the message is, even if you’ve only got a few hours free on Friday afternoon, come to the Donington Historic Festival for a truly memorable start to your weekend!”
Advance ticket prices for the Festival start at £12 for the Friday, £20 for Saturday or Sunday and just £36 for a three-day weekend ticket. On-the-gate prices will be £15 for Friday, £25 for Saturday or Sunday and £45 for the three-day weekend, with Festival tickets also giving two-for-one entry to the Donington Collection. Children aged under 16 are admitted for free.
