If you’re struggling to find that perfect location that really does offer the best of both worlds then look no further than Bishops Cleeve in Gloucestershire. With its wealth of local history, picturesque countryside setting, abundance of nearby amenities, good commuter links and house prices on average £35,000 less than nearby Cheltenham, it certainly ticks all the boxes.

Taylor Wimpey’s Dean Acre development in the village has seen massive interest from people looking to move to the area to take advantage of the stunning location and affordable new homes. Richard Goad, regional sales and marketing director for Taylor Wimpey commented: “Since we first launched our Dean Acre development just under a year ago the response from buyers has been fantastic. Bishops Cleeve is a beautiful village with everything you need for day to day living and despite being only 3 miles north of Cheltenham, house prices are significantly lower than in its more well-known neighbour. Its increasing popularity has also meant that last year house prices were up 7% on the year before, compared to just 4% in nearby Cheltenham, offering buyers a good long term investment.”

Situated at the foot of Cleeve Hill, the highest point in the Cotswolds, Bishops Cleeve dates back to the 8th Century and features many historical buildings and pretty thatched cottages, giving it real charm and character. The village itself offers a host of independent shops and amenities, together with good primary schools. Nearby Cheltenham boasts an abundance of high street stores and leisure facilities including the famous Cheltenham Racecourse.

Kirstie Wallace and her partner Lewis were one of the first residents to move into Dean Acre. Kirstie commented: “When we started looking to buy our first home together we hadn’t really considered Bishops Cleeve as we were initially looking for a town location. But when we visited Taylor Wimpey’s Dean Acre development and had a look around the village we quickly realised it was everything we were looking for. We could get a lot more for our money here but still have all the benefits of a larger town on our doorstep. Plus now we have great views across the countryside which is wonderful.”

Richard Goad added: “I’d urge anyone interested in moving to a countryside location with superb commuter links to visit Dean Acre and see what we have to offer. Plus one of the many advantages of a new build property is that we can offer the incentives and flexibility which allow purchasers to get on and move up the property ladder much easier. We’ve had a fantastic response to schemes such as NewBuy and FirstBuy so if you want to move but think you can’t afford the deposit come and visit us today. Our experienced sales advisors will be able to talk you through the options and incentives available and you could be moving into your dream home before you know it.”
