The 12th Welsh Perry and Cider Festival will be taking place at Caldicot Castle in Monmouthshire over the Whitsun Bank Holiday weekend from Friday 24 – Monday 27 May 2013.

The festival, which celebrates Welsh made artisan, pure juice cider and perry products, will be integrated with the International Craft Cider Festival, offering visitors even more selection and the opportunity to try ciders from around the world.

So far the festivals international elements include products from England, Scotland and Ireland as well as France and the Czech Republic.

The Welsh Perry and Cider Society, organisers of the annual festival, are working closely with Caldicot Castle to establish a larger presence than ever in South Wales and over the border due to increased numbers in previous years.

Founded by the Normans, developed in royal hands as a stronghold in the Middle Ages and restored as a Victorian family home, Caldicot Castle has a romantic and colourful history, making it the perfect location for a festival celebrating locally produced products.

Highlights of the festival will include live music throughout, locally produced catering and a number of market stalls. A wide selection of entertainment will also be available, with Monday being a family orientated day with lots of medieval games and activities.

Early bird tickets are also available for entry, starting from only £4 per day, saving more than 20% on on-the-door prices. All advance tickets can be bought in advance online via welshcider.fatsoma.com and are subject to a booking fee.
