Santa Pod Street Street Nationals - Non-stop action on and off the strip
Back for a second year Street Nationals is bigger, better and busier than ever and the event is fast becoming a modified scene essential. Taking place on Saturday 11th – Sunday 12th May, all the ingredients are there for one of the best ‘Pod events of the year!
This year’s show holds the second round of the brand new FWD Drag series, which, as the name suggests, sees highly tuned FWD cars battling it out for top honours in a class that humbles many RWD and 4WD machines. But that’s only the start of a packed itinerary of intense race action; there will also be championship rounds of Jap Drag Series and Outlaw Street Drag Racing running throughout the weekend. Expect competition to be fierce and times to be close!
It’s not all about the hardened racers though – if you fancy setting your own personal best time down the quarter mile, bring your driving licence and launch your own ride down the newly surfaced strip in one of the many RWYB sessions. Anyone who has entered RWYB is automatically put in to a FREE prize draw to win a £200 Eibach Pro-Kit!
Street Nationals is already proving popular with the clubs, with an increasing number of groups booking in, making this a key part of the event. The show car paddock entry list already contains some of the finest examples of the show car craft in the UK and promises to offer an exceptionally high standard of execution. Expect rivalry to be as fierce here as on the quarter mile!
As you may have guessed already – there’s going to be a lot to see, so why not make a weekend of it? You can then take full advantage of the evening entertainment, kick back with a few beers, listen to the DJ’s and watch the dancers.. Unless you fancy an early start on the strip, you can stay up waaaay past your bedtime…
The Show and Shine competition allows you to exercise a little friendly rivalry with your mates and fellow club members, and with trophies and significant kudos up for grabs, expect to see the polishing cloths to be out from first light onwards! Or, if you think you’re packing something significant under the hood, why not go and prove it on the mobile dyno. Nothing settles an un-resolved pub debate better than a printout, after all..
A fantastic new addition for 2013 are the Speedcross cars.
