House hunters wanting to get a taste of life at Sherborne’s newest and most exclusive property development will be able to visit a brand new show home when it opens its doors on 2 June.

Located at Redcliffe Homes’ Sherborne House Gardens development in Sherborne, Dorset the show home is a four-bedroom, three-storey ‘Dickens’ and forms part of the tree-lined Portman Place phase.

Featuring the very latest design trends, fabrics and colours, those who pop alone to have a look around will see for themselves why the development has already proved popular with discerning house hunters.

The development is being built within the former walled garden of Sherborne House with the grand, 18th century house undergoing a comprehensive and sensitive restoration programme which includes work to restore the Grade 1 Listed Thornhill Mural

Once work on the house is complete it will include an Art Café as well as an art gallery which will be located within part of the original house. It is also hoped that it will be used as the archive of the work of renowned sculptor and printmaker Dame Elizabeth Frink.

Comprising 44 properties built in 13 different styles, Sherborne House Gardens has already attracted considerable interest from house hunters keen to get the pick of the plots with some having already moved in.

And although the development is very close to the centre of Sherborne and the main shopping area in and around Cheap Street, it affords a level of privacy rarely seen with a new property development.

Lorraine Kendrick, Marketing and Sales at Redcliffe Homes said: “Sherborne House Gardens has a number of attributes that sets it apart from anything else in the area including the wide selection of property styles and its location.

“The opening of the show home will really give anyone thinking of moving to the area, a great idea of what life would be like in this wonderful part of Dorset.

“This development has been carefully thought out over many years of planning and talks with the local authority to ensure that the mix and the look of new homes will be just right.

“We have taken a sensitive approach to the design and it is great to open this show home which is reflected in the detail and quality that has gone into it.”

The Dickens

The first thing to note about this particular property is its location which is within the secluded and private Portman Place phase. A beautifully designed home The Dickens is a house that has loads of room.

The ground floor comprises a well-designed and roomy kitchen / dining area and is ideal for hectic family mornings or more formal dinner parties. It also benefits from a large bay window maximising the amount of light into the room.

The second main room off the hall is the spacious day room. With two sets of French doors out onto the rear garden it’s a great place for a second lounge and really opens up the garden. A handy utility, cloakroom and store cupboard completes the downstairs offer.

On the first floor is the en suite master bedroom and main living room. The master bedroom also has built in wardrobes and maximises the space. And like the kitchen / dining area below, the living room has a large bay window which lets the light flood in.

On the second floor are the three remaining bedroom. The guest room is en suite while a family bathroom serves the two remaining bedrooms.

Lorraine added: “This new show home is absolutely stunning and we can’t wait to open and show prospective buyers why Sherborne House Gardens is so special.”

The sales office is open Thursday to Monday 10 am to 5pm. For further details, visit redcliffehomes.co.uk.
