Construction is now well underway at St. Modwen Homes’ new residential development, St. Modwen Homes at Littlecombe, with the show home set to be launched later this month (June).

Located on Lister Road, just off Kingshill Lane in Dursley, the new housing development is already proving popular following its launch last month, having attracted a high level of interest, both from those already living in the area and people further afield who have identified Dursley as an ideal commuter location.

When complete, Littlecombe will boast 94 properties with a variety of bespoke house designs for people to choose from; ranging from a semi-detached two bedroom ‘Romney’ house to a four bedroom detached ‘Southdown’ home that boasts a relaxing south-facing sun room leading onto a spacious, fenced rear garden. Thanks to the variations in front elevations on the house types, there are an impressive 17 house styles to choose from.

Neil Simpson, residential sales and marketing director at St. Modwen Homes said: “More than 50 per cent of our construction work is complete on the first section of properties at Littlecombe, meaning visitors can now get a real feel for the size and style of the houses that we are building.

“We’ve initially released the larger four bedroom houses for sale which are the perfect size for a growing family. Purchasing from plan means househunters are able to secure their preferred plot and can be an integral part of the build process, helping to choose their perfect kitchen and light fittings to make sure it really is their dream home.”

Of the four bedroom properties now released for sale, there is a choice of four house styles: The Cambridge and Hampshire detached homes, the Herdwick semi-detached property and the newly released Southdown detached house with balcony. Prices for these homes start from £295,000.

Neil said: “Dursley is a quintessential rural market town and as such, a lot of care and consideration has been taken when designing these houses to guarantee they complement the local area. External appearances and practicality – alongside ensuring each house makes the most of its idyllic surroundings – have been key considerations for each of the house types and we are really excited about the final plans for the development.”

The Hampshire and Cambridge four bedroom houses have both been designed with a central floor to ceiling window, creating a bright and spacious atrium with outstanding views across Stinchcombe Hill and the Cotswolds Edge. The Herdwick house has the same picturesque vistas which can be appreciated from the balcony off the master bedroom.

Alongside the extreme care being taken over the appearance of the homes, the properties are also being built to an EcoHomes ‘Excellent’ rating, meaning the houses include superior environmental design features that contribute to a greener environment, as well as conserving wildlife habitats and reducing household energy bills.

Additionally, the new homes benefit from the network of footpaths, cycle paths and delightful riverside walks surrounding the development.

Ideal for commuters wanting to enjoy a rural lifestyle, the properties are within easy distance of Junctions 13 and 14 of the M5 and perfectly positioned for onwards connections with the M4. From nearby Cam and Dursley station it’s possible to reach Bristol Temple Meads in just 36 minutes. To the north, Gloucester itself is just 19 minutes by rail and Cheltenham Spa only 32 minutes.
