Bangkok is set to take centre stage as the top travel destination in the world, according to recent statistics provided by the Global Destination Cities Index (GDCI) by MasterCard Worldwide. With five hotels located in key areas across the city, Amari offers the ideal base for a cosmopolitan Bangkok adventure.

Expected to welcome 15.98 million international visitors this year, according to the GDCI, Bangkok has taken the crown for 2013 ranking above competition from other leading world cities including London, Paris, Singapore and New York.

Visitors can begin and end a day of exploring the city at one of Amari’s Bangkok hotels. A warm welcome, innovative dining concepts and easy access to the city’s hotspots are all on hand.

Bangkok’s stunning temples, bustling markets, prime shopping locations and great value for money are just some of the qualities contributing to its continued popularity. Both first time and repeat visitors are catered for in the urban metropolis whether it’s a solo adventure, romantic break or just a spot of R&R that’s on the agenda.

From drifting down the Chao Phraya River or basking in the sunshine at Lumphini Park, to whizzing through the streets in a tuk-tuk and simply soaking up the city’s vibrant energy, it’s the perfect destination to discover and create lasting memories.

For an authentic Thai experience, head to one of the city’s spectacular cultural sites such as The Grand Palace. Built in 1782 by King Rama I, today it is a must-see for visitors to catch a glimpse of the precious Lord Buddha in the Temple of The Emerald Buddha-Wat Pra Keo.

Shopaholics beware as no stay in Bangkok would be complete without dabbling in the diverse and dazzling shopping scene. Options range from zigzagging through city markets to grab a bargain, such as the world’s largest weekend market Chatuchak, to bagging designer treasures at top malls Central World and Siam Paragon.

With accommodation choices including central Amari Watergate in the prime shopping area of Pratunam, Amari Boulevard in the heart of the buzzing street Sukhumvit Soi 5, to conveniently located Amari Don Muang Airport, whatever the reason for exploring Bangkok Amari provides the ideal pad to recharge.
