A 28-acre development site off Abbotsham Road in Bideford, Devon, has been purchased by award-winning housebuilder Redrow.

The new site, College Green, comes with detailed planning permission for 232 properties consisting of 200 private homes, plus 32 affordable houses as well as a care home.

In addition to the new homes at College Green, the site will also include significant areas of public open space for play and recreational use. The former Grenville College site will be brought back to life by Redrow, making a vital contribution to Devon’s housing demand.

Redrow is planning to build 232 desirable new homes in total, a mix of private and affordable dwellings, with a wide selection of two, three and four bedrooms. The mix of New Heritage Collection homes planned for this development is sure to attract couples and families from across the region. The development will provide another example of quality and workmanship synonymous with Redrow.

Lee Hawker, land director for Redrow (South West), said: “We are pleased to have secured this key strategic site which will build on our other successful developments in Devon, ‘The Harringtons’ in Exeter, ‘Clifton Heights’ in Holsworthy, ‘The Fairways’ in Newton Abbot and ‘Vision’ in Plymouth, and have all proved very popular with local residents.”

Redrow will also be making substantial contributions to the local area in the form of a £773,000 primary school education contribution and £20,000 highway works contribution, which will include a bus stop and toucan crossing on Abbotsham Road. There is also provision for play and sports facilities together with a plan for their management which totals £160,000.

Infrastructure works will commence imminently, with show homes and the first properties being available in early autumn 2013.

This well placed development is bound to prove popular, so homebuyers are encouraged to register their interest today to make sure they get pick of the plots. To find out more, visit redrow.co.uk/developments/college-park-bideford.
