Buyers flock to new development in Normanton

House hunters have flocked to a new homes development in the village of Altofts, Normanton in a bid to get the pick of the properties.

Victoria Gardens, a small development of just 33 homes by leading housebuilder Miller Homes, opened at the beginning of June and has already seen a number of properties reserved by buyers keen to secure a brand new home.

"Visitor numbers have exceeded our expectations in the first few weeks with several properties already sold," said Paula Fox sales adviser Miller Homes Yorkshire. The development was officially opened by Megan Reynolds and Jessica Alton, pupils at Altofts Junior School who had created the development name through a school competition.

Help to Buy offers assistance for buyers who only have a small deposit of around 5% through the provision of a 20% equity loan from the Government for those who meet the qualifying criteria, meaning buyers only need to secure up to a 75% mortgage from a bank or building society.
