Mercedes-Benz dealer Road Range gives football star Toni a lift
Everton Ladies and England footballer Toni Duggan can now practise passing skills of a different kind in a sleek new Mercedes-Benz coupé, courtesy of local truck and van dealer Road Range Commercials.
Striker Toni collected the keys to the stylish white Mercedes-Benz CLC-Class from Road Range Dealer Principal Brian Kempson, at the company’s state-of-the-art dealership on the Deeside Industrial Estate.
“The car is a great boost and looks fantastic, especially with the Everton club crest on the side!” enthuses Toni, who is still celebrating her recent call-up to the national squad for next month’s Euro 2013 tournament in Sweden.
“I’ll use it to travel to and from training sessions for club and country. It’s so smooth and comfortable to drive that I’ll always arrive feeling fresh and relaxed, and ready to get straight to work.”
Brian Kempson adds: “We’re delighted to have this opportunity to support Toni, and to provide her with a vehicle in which she can travel in style and safety. Everyone at Road Range will now be watching out for her at Euro 2013, where we’re confident she’ll perform every bit as well as her new car!”
Now 21, Toni broke into the Everton Ladies first team in the 2007/8 season – the side’s regular strikers were injured and she quickly impressed coaches with a series of eye-catching performances.
She scored the winning goal in that season’s League Cup semi-final, deep in extra time, and also played in her team’s 2010 FA Women’s Cup final victory over Arsenal. She has also represented England at under-17, under-19, under-20 and under-23 levels. In 2009 she helped the under-19s to victory in the UEFA Women’s Under-19 Championship, scoring in the final match against Sweden on her 18th birthday.
Road Range Commercials sells and supports the award-winning range of Mercedes-Benz trucks and vans, from the mighty New Actros tractor unit to the new Citan, the smallest commercial vehicle to wear a three-pointed star, as well as Fuso Canter light trucks. In addition to its recently opened Deeside facility, the company also has two sites in Liverpool and another at Llandudno Junction.
