London’s authentic Spanish outdoor restaurant, Ibérica La Terraza, invites guests to enjoy their range of refreshingly original drinks this summer. Discover the flare of Ibérica’s bartenders with the latest take on the Spanish Sangria serve, to traffic-stopping ways of serving wine the Spanish way, all just moments away from Canary Wharf tube in a leafy corner of Cabot Square.

Original Sangria Recipes

Ibérica’s Cava Sangria is a delicious take on the traditional serve, replacing the red wine with Cava. The addition of mint brings an enhanced freshness and the melody of summer fruits, including blackberries, raspberries, oranges, strawberries and pomegranate seeds, complements the pronounced apple and pear palate of the Cava. For beer aficionados, Ibérica’s unique Beer Sangria is ideal after a long day at work. The citrus notes of Estrella Galicia perfectly complement the fresh Valencia oranges muddled in this unique sangria.

Porrón

Embrace Spanish culture and share a porrón with friends at Ibérica. The porrón is a traditional glass wine pitcher that resembles a cross between a wine bottle and a watering can. Its shape ensures that the wine stored inside will have minimal exposure to air, thereby reducing the risk of oxidation.

A beginners guide to drinking from a porrón:

1. Bring the spout very close to your mouth and tilt it forward slowly so that the beak points towards your teeth

2. Once the liquid starts pouring, pull the porrón away from your face whilst looking up

3. To finish drinking, lower the porrón, bringing it closer to your mouth again

4. Before stopping, quickly tilt the spout up at the last moment to avoid spillage

The porrón can be passed from hand to hand amongst friends. A regular user can start and stop drinking from the porrón with the spout held at a distance without spilling a drop!

Speciality Gin & Tonics

Spain is renowned for its love of gin, approaching the G&T serve with the same curiosity as the English do cocktails, and at Ibérica this has truly been embraced. There is nothing ordinary about Ibérica’s specialty gin & tonic menu, which includes serves such as the Gin Mare & Tonic, with thyme, rosemary and lemon juice providing a refreshing twist. Experience the passion that goes into making this classic drink, and be transported directly to the bustling heat of Madrid.

Enjoy these drinks alongside Ibérica La Terraza’s authentic Spanish tapas, from Pinchos, including creamed cheeses, sun blush tomato, rocket & basil to Fried Squid Bocadillo, a traditional Spanish dish served in a sourdough baguette and served with alioli.
