Motoring legends Sir Stirling Moss, Paddy Hopkirk and Barrie 'Whizzo' Williams are appearing as guests of the Midland Automobile Club's Classic Nostalgia meeting this coming weekend (27th/28th July), supported by Classic and Sports Car Magazine and Peter James Insurance.

The annual event at Shelsley Walsh Hill Climb, near Worcester, attracts several hundred classic cars from the 1950s and 60s and people attending are encouraged to wear optional period dress to add to the overall nostalgic theme, with prizes for the 'Best Dressed' lady and gentleman.

Formula One legend Sir Stirling Moss will be in attendance all day on Sunday performing a number of duties including claiming his own 'yard of tarmac' near the Start Line on the hill, a scheme introduced to raise money for restoration projects at Shelsley Walsh, one of which is the Museum Bar which he will officially open in the Courtyard.

Sunday will also see a Concours D'Elegance competition sponsored by Classic & Sports Car magazine for the first 100 cars that arrive by 12 noon latest and enter. This will be judged in various classes by motoring journalist and regular Shelsley Walsh competitor Simon Taylor, with a cavalcade run of the 15 best cars driving up the historic hill in the afternoon led by Sir Stirling Moss in the latest Jaguar F Type.

The weekend also celebrates the 50th anniversary of the iconic Mini Cooper with famous rally and racing stars Paddy Hopkirk and Barrie 'Whizzo' Williams driving examples of the marque, together with classic trials cars which will be giving passenger rides for visitors.

Apart from the Ukelele, Saxaphone playing, jazz bands and overall festival atmosphere both days will feature serious competition from a huge variety of period cars including Lotus, Allard, Elden, Riley, Mini Cooper and over 30 MG cars from over the years.

There will be demonstration runs by Jason Blott's Ford Zephyr Utility and the action starts at 9.15am each day.
