Time for tee at Rowallan

6th August 2013 Print

New homeowners are being offered the chance to follow in the footsteps of golfing legend Colin Montgomerie at an exclusive development from one of the country’s most prestigious house builders.

Charles Church’s superb new gated development of 35 detached homes at Rowallan Castle sits in five secluded clusters on the edge of the fabulous Championship golf course designed by the Scottish ace – and right in the shadow of the historic castle itself.

And to help new homeowners get straight into the swing of things at the stunning Ayrshire development, Charles Church are offering his and her’s membership to the golf club for a full year to new buyers.

The breathtaking location – set in open countryside on the 700-year-old Rowallan estate at Kilmaurs with the 13th century castle sitting proudly at its heart – forms the perfect backdrop to both Montgomerie’s course and the new Charles Church homes.

Many of the homes enjoy fine views of the golf course, with mature woods, streams and Ayrshire’s glorious rolling meadows adding further to the idyllic setting.

Each of the homes is finished to the highest standards and specifications, with external design features reflecting some of the architectural features of the castle itself.

Lorraine Clelland, Charles Church Sales Director for East Scotland, said: “The lifestyle you will have here is beyond your imagination. We have dedicated our time to planning, designing and creating this new development to be one of the most stunning in Scotland.

“All the homes have generous gardens and the house designs been created with space in mind, and have a luxury specification, although we are happy to talk to buyers about adding their own personal touches to create the perfect home.

“The golf course is already one of the finest in the area whilst the castle is of such importance nationally that it is in the guardianship of Historic Scotland. We are offering both a man’s and woman’s membership of the course to new buyers so that they really can follow in Colin Montgomerie’s footsteps.

Prices for the homes – which feature either five or six bedrooms – start at £475,000.

The development is just a stone’s throw from the M77, meaning Glasgow is just a half hour drive away, with some of Scotland’s best walking, fishing and cycling all right on the doorstep.

Rowallan Castle itself is an extraordinary Renaissance house and within it is the evidence of its development from the 13th century to the 18th century.

It was the home of an important Ayrshire family, the Muirs, who counted writers, historians, composers and builders amongst their number.

The golf course will stage the latest round of the PGA EuroPro tour at the end of July, featuring some of the continent’s best young talent battling it out in front of the Sky Sports cameras.
