Volkswagen specialists helping car buyers to save thousands

A leading Volkswagen dealership is helping keep hard-pressed drivers on the road with a summer insurance deal which could save them thousands of pounds.

Specialist Cars Aberdeen are offering a year’s free insurance for drivers registering a new VW Up!, Polo, Beetle or Beetle Cabriolet before the end of September.

The deal – open to anyone over the age of 21 and under 80 – means that a driver under 25 could save around £2,800 in one fell swoop while older women drivers could be more than £600 better off.

Paul Lanni, Brand Manager at Specialist Cars Aberdeen,said: “This is an offer not to be missed. Purchasing a brand new car can be an expensive business, and with motorists spending more and more on their insurance premiums, we are keen to help make their financial planning that little bit easier.”

Paul said latest figures showed the average annual insurance premium for under 25-year-olds was a staggering £2,800, whilst other groups also stood to save substantial amounts of cash.

“A 2012 study found that the average insurance for women aged between 40 and 49 had increased by a huge 45% to £618 since January 2010. That is money they will save for a year under our deal.”

The free insurance offer is available on all qualifying new Volkswagen Up!s, Polos, Beetles and Beetle Cabriolets registered by 30 September 2013 and lasts one year.

To qualify for the offer, drivers must be aged between 21 and 80 and will have held a full UK driving licence for at least 12 months.

The Volkswagen Up! has twice been named Best City Car in the Fleet World honours and is available from only £9,335, with payments of just £99. The Polo starts from £10,650, the Beetle from £15,515 and the Beetle Cabriolet from £18,405.
