The first show home to be unveiled at the brand new St. Modwen Homes at Littlecombe site in Dursley has now opened its doors to the general public.

Many househunters have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of the new four bedroom ‘Suffolk’ show home which allows them to see the high-quality specification and unique house designs on offer at the St. Modwen Homes’ site for the first time.

Boasting a floor to ceiling central window and a spacious balcony which is accessed through two of the bedrooms, the house presents a fantastic opportunity for families wanting to enjoy the comforts of a new build property whilst being located at the heart of a picturesque rural market town.

Neil Simpson, sales and marketing director at St. Modwen Homes said: “Opening the doors to a brand new show home is always the most exciting part of any new-build housing development, especially when it’s the first time that people will be able to walk around the new houses for themselves.

“As a company, St. Modwen Homes takes great care over both the design of its homes and the level to which we finish the properties. At Littlecombe, it’s been important that each and every house takes full advantage of its picturesque surroundings, offering new homeowners the very best of rural living.”

The house also showcases carefully selected interior design trends, using various shades of blue and green to help mirror the beautiful, natural colours of the Cotswolds Edge escarpment that lies beyond the development.

Camilla Johnson, senior interior designer at The Open Door Company said: “Littlecombe has been a lovely scheme to work on. The show home is brilliantly proportioned with lots of large windows, creating bright and spacious living areas, all overlooking the nearby countryside.

“The aim was to make the show home inviting and sophisticated, whilst maintaining a lived in and practical family feel. The house boasts three receptions rooms so it was important we showed how each room could work with people’s lifestyles. We therefore designed one as the cosy family room with relaxed, informal furniture and used the other, larger room as the more formal living room, using the lovely bay window as the central feature so that everyone is drawn to the great view beyond. The final reception room, or the sun room, has been transformed into a study, showcasing it as an area of escape for working parents.”

The grandeur of the house is highlighted through a variety of subtle interior features including Mulberry wallpaper in the hallway, large stand-out light fixtures (particularly in the master bedroom) and an excess of chairs and seating options in the living room to emphasise how the space could be used for entertaining.

Located on Lister Road, just off Kingshill Lane in Dursley, the new housing development is already proving popular following its launch in May, with a number of properties now reserved from plan. When complete, Littlecombe will boast 94 properties with a variety of bespoke house designs for people to choose from.

Alongside the extreme care being taken over the appearance of the homes, the properties are also being built to an EcoHomes ‘Excellent’ rating, meaning the houses include superior environmental design features that contribute to a greener environment, as well as conserving wildlife habitats and reducing household energy bills.

Additionally, the new homes benefit from the network of footpaths, cycle paths and delightful riverside walks surrounding the development.
