Bellway Homes commits to ‘vibrant’ Wolverhampton after city centre success

One of the country’s biggest housebuilders has committed to more development in Wolverhampton after two city centre sites proved hugely successful.

Bellway Homes says the market in the city is buoyant with a whole spectrum of buyers looking to put down roots or invest.

The company has sold more than 100 new homes across its developments at Boundary Park, Fordhouses and WV4 in the city centre.

Now its attention is turning to The Alders in Gatis Street, where there has been a lot of early interest.

Bellway Homes Sales and Marketing Director Stephen Rose said: “We have been building homes in Wolverhampton for a number of years now and have found it to be a successful, vibrant area for us.

“We’ve seen increasing demand for homes of all sizes from a range of buyers. Boundary Park is a development of two to five-bedroom homes and only a couple of four-bedroom detached houses remain.

“Across at WV4 we have a range of one and two-bedroom apartments. They have sold quickly thanks in part to apartments having a resurgence in popularity. Again only a couple of these are left to sell."

With millions of pounds in public money being spent in the city, new employment opportunities, a bustling shopping scene and cosmopolitan culture, Wolverhampton has established itself as an attractive place to live and work.

Building work is now pushing ahead at The Alders, which offers generously proportioned two-bedroom terraced homes, four-bedroom detached houses and a variety of options in between.

Some early buyers have already moved in and more homes have been released for sale. The plots currently available start at £156,000 for a three-bedroom semi-detached home.

Mr Rose said: “This development reaffirms our commitment to Wolverhampton.

“Our experience elsewhere in the city tells us that The Alders will cater for the sections of the market where demand is highest. It is within walking distance of the centre and located close to schools and leisure facilities which appeal to families.”

Bellway Homes is also building at Lakeside in Cannock, College Fields in Wednesbury and The Green at Bloxwich.
