National housebuilder, Crest Nicholson Regeneration has experienced strong sales over the summer months, having now sold more than 50 per cent of the new homes launched at its Central Plaza building at Park Central in Birmingham city centre.

A total of 43 apartments have been sold in the first phase of Central Plaza which will deliver 76 new properties in the first building and, bucking the national trend, all of those homes that have currently been sold have been purchased from plan.

Many of the new apartments have been purchased by healthcare professionals working at the nearby Queen Elizabeth Hospital and parents buying properties for their children who are starting at one of the city centre universities later this month.

Susan Young, sales and marketing director for Crest Nicholson Regeneration said: “In past years the summer months have tended to mark a quieter period for sales at Park Central as the majority of people jet off to sunnier climates however, this year, we have seen an increase in sales between May and August, with many young professionals and students enquiring about the properties.

“There is much positivity surrounding the housing market at the moment, particularly in the West Midlands where it has been recorded that the area has seen its highest level of interest from buyers for 14 years. With house prices on the rise and confidence increasing, now marks a great time for first time buyers to get onto the property ladder – particularly with the help that is available under the Government’s Help to Buy scheme where purchasers need deposits of just 5 per cent.”

All remaining one and two bedroom apartments in the first building at Central Plaza are available under Help to Buy, whereby purchasers can secure a new home with a deposit as little as £6,125. The scheme allows people to buy a new apartment at Park Central for just 80 per cent of the listed price (made up of a 75 per cent mortgage and 5 per cent deposit) as the Government covers the remaining 20 per cent with an equity loan. Purchasers will still own 100 per cent of their new property.

Susan said: “Many of our new purchasers at Park Central have been hugely impressed with the high quality specification that comes as standard in the apartments, including designer kitchens and contemporary bathrooms with eco-friendly Hansgrohe technology. The open plan and modern design of the properties is perfectly suited for younger people wishing to make the most of city living, with the majority of apartments boasting a spacious balcony with incredible views over the city centre.”

Crest Nicholson has also launched a selection of two, three and four bedroom freehold townhouses in its latest phase at Park Central, Ellis Place. The exclusive phase will deliver just 21 homes when complete with prices starting from £210,000.

Located off Lee Bank Middleway, just a short walk away from the city centre, Park Central is in a prime position for residents to take advantage of the newly opened Library of Birmingham, the newly developed New Street railway station and the highly anticipated John Lewis store, which is due to open next year, as well as the many existing shops, bars and restaurants.

Prices start from £122,500 for a one bedroom and £157,000 for a two bedroom apartment.
