Celebrate the festive season with fabulous food, lots of entertainment and great walks - ideal for walking off those Christmas excesses - on a Christmas UK getaway with HF Holidays.

The company’s Festive Guided Walking breaks are based at a choice of its UK Country Houses – spread across England, Scotland and Wales – and combine seasonal guided walks in spectacular winter scenery with a sociable, festive evening programme which includes dancing, quizzes and carols.  In addition, the Country Houses will be decorated for the season and all guests receive a gift on Christmas Day.

For example, head to the fantastic countryside of the Yorkshire Dales – a region of hills, valleys, waterfalls, caves and rivers – and enjoy a choice of walks along the River Wharfe and the Ribble Way as well as scrambling up Gordale Scar and taking in the remarkable limestone landscape, Malham Cove and Janet’s Foss Waterfall.

Accommodation is at Newfield Hall – a 19C Country House situated in extensive grounds at Malhamdale – and a four-night break starting 23 December costs £615.

Or, spend Christmas surrounded by stunning scenery on the shores of Loch Leven in the Western Highlands on a five-night festive guided walking break which costs £699 inclusive of accommodation at Alltshellach Country House, where facilities include an indoor pool and spa pool – ideal for relaxing after a day’s walking.

Highlights of the holiday include walking beneath the north face of Ben Nevis, on the Isle of Lismore and along the West Highland Way and following the hills and tracks around Glen Coe.

Prices quoted are per person, twin-share inclusive of full board – including traditional turkey with all the trimmings on Christmas Day – the holiday programme and themed social activities, local transport, plus the services of an HF Holidays’ guide.
