Vauxhall claimed an impressive triple award-haul at the What Car? Used Car Awards on Monday, including the headline manufacturer award, a small car accolade for the Corsa and the nearly new honour for the Astra.

“Our manufacturer award seeks to recognise a car maker committed to making the buying process as easy as possible, while offering a choice of cars at sensible prices,” said Chas Hallett, What Car? Editor-in-chief.  “Our judges felt that Vauxhall offered all of the above, with its impressive model range, two of which have secured wins in this year’s awards.”

Clinching the best small car under £5,000 category, the top-selling Corsa was praised by What Car? for its superb value and reliability. Completing the treble with the best nearly new car over £6,000 award, the ever-popular Astra was lauded by judges for its space, practicality and low running costs. “It’s hard to think of another car less than a year old that offers more value for money,” said the What Car? judges.

“We are delighted to receive these three prestigious awards from What Car?,” said Duncan Aldred, Vauxhall’s Chairman and Managing Director. “With over two million cars sold to date, our used car brand Network Q, is the UK’s largest with an unparalleled choice of used Vauxhalls available.”

The What Car? Used Car of the Year judging panel were from all areas of the motor industry, including Fords of Winsford car supermarket, Warranty Direct, CDL Ltd, plus experts from What Car?. As well as selecting the overall Used Car of the Year, the judges picked winners and runners-up in nine categories, looking at running costs, reliability, driveability, quality, longevity, safety features and desirability.

What Car?’s road test editor and head judge Steve Huntingford said: “Network Q is one of the oldest approved used schemes. There are more than 350 outlets and it has a good online offering, a great choice of stock, all cars come with a comprehensive Network Q check, and an unbeatable insurance package. Network Q makes buying a used car very easy.”

Launched in 1990, Network Q was the first national, manufacturer-backed used car programme. It offers its customers peace of mind when buying a used car and they can be assured the best selection of quality Vauxhalls anywhere with over 10,000 to choose from at more than 350 retail outlets.

Network Q’s vehicles are inspected by those who know Vauxhalls best – Vauxhall technicians – and are even checked against recall directories to make sure nothing has been overlooked.
